Tim Osbon, MD, MS

A Sandlapper from Day One, Dr. Tim Osbon was born in Greer, South Carolina at the foot of the mountains in Greenville County, enjoying an idyllic childhood exploring the creeks, mountains, and forests that blanket our state. He attended Blue Ridge High School and then matriculated at Wofford College and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. Dr. Osbon received a US Army Commission in the Medical Service Corps and was stationed as an officer at the military medical school in Bethesda, Maryland. While on active duty, he enrolled in the graduate program at The Johns Hopkins University and received a Master's degree in biotechnology and genetics in 1998. He applied and was accepted at the Medical University of South Carolina and completed his MD in 2002. Tim completed his Emergency Medicine residency in 2005 at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia and then returned to the Low Country as an attending physician where he has been in active practice ever since.

Dr. Osbon also started Oasis Hyperbarics in 2007 and opened a hyperbaric oxygen facility in early 2008 that merged with East Cooper Medical Center two years later and developed the Comprehensive Wound Center, a thriving practice that provides world class wound care to the people of Mount Pleasant. In 2019 he began working with Dr. Richard Bowen located in Charleston, SC and, impressed with the therapeutic responses he witnessed, began the process of expanding the practice to the Upstate along with Dr. Erik Oberg, his best friend since the very first day of medical school. That dream is now being realized with the opening of the Greenville Ketamine Center where he can focus exclusively on providing ketamine infusion therapy in a safe, monitored environment. The new center provides a vital option for patients in the Greenville area that suffer from depression, anxiety, chronic pain, OCD, and PTSD.

Tim feels immensely blessed to live in the Low Country and avidly enjoys the maritime traditions of sailing, fishing, and shrimping that characterize this wonderful part of the planet as well as the rich cultural and historical resources for which Charleston is known. Moreover, he is excited about returning to the Upstate to establish the Greenville Ketamine Center for those patients in need.

Erik Oberg, MD

Dr. Erik Oberg arrived to South Carolina in 1998 after graduating from the United States Air Force Academy to attend the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). It was at MUSC where he met Dr Osbon and there began a lifelong friendship. After graduating he went on to specialize in Emergency Medicine and honorably served his country all over the world as a Flight Surgeon, ER doc and Critical Care Air Transport physician in the US Air Force until he returned to the great state of South Carolina in 2015 to pursue his career in the ER. Having directly observed the life changing experience that ketamine infusions can have, he is very excited to bring that same experience to Greenville SC. He feels blessed to be able to offer this tremendous treatment and caring approach to the Upstate.

His interests outside of medicine include sailing, boating, fishing and being with his family. Dr. Oberg is board certified in Emergency Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. He holds medical licenses in South Carolina, Georgia and Texas.

Edward Neilsen, MD

Dr. Edward "Allen" Neilsen spent his youth traveling the world in a military family. He arrived in South Carolina in 1997 where he attended Clemson University. While attending Medical School at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) he met Drs. Osbon and Oberg and they began their lifelong friendship and passion for helping others. After graduating he specialized in Family Medicine, completing his Residency at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia, SC. Since then he has worked in Family Medicine, Urgent Care, Telehealth, and Occupational Medicine throughout the state of South Carolina and has served in numerous leadership positions both locally and on a state level.

Dr. Neilsen is excited to help bring Ketamine services to the many people in need around the Midlands and beyond. His goal, as well as those of Drs. Oberg and Osbon, is to offer these services in a welcoming, monitored environment; providing a caring atmosphere in a fashion that exceeds expectations. At a time where people are pushed through the healthcare system, focusing on volume rather than results, Dr. Neilsen wants to bring back compassionate, meaningful care.

Like his colleagues and friends, Dr. Neilsen is blessed to be living in South Carolina and enjoys spending time fishing, sailing, and spending time with his wife, two sons, and Daisy (his rescue dog).

Erin Geiger, MSN, PMHNP

Erin first heard the call to nursing in the summer of 2015 while serving with Mother Teresa’s sisters, the Missionaries of Charity, in Kolkata, India. There she worked at Prem Dan (meaning “gift of love” in Bengali), a home for the destitute and dying. In 2018 she served on medical mission in Uganda, partnering with Kitovu Mobile Clinic to provide care and support for those living with HIV and AIDS in the Masaka District.

Erin received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing with Cum Laude Honors from Benedictine College in 2019 before moving south for the warmer weather and to be closer to family. She worked as an inpatient psychiatric nurse before returning to school to receive her Masters of Science in Nursing from Anderson University where she graduated top of her class, earning the Dean’s Award.

Erin is known for establishing authentic rapport with patients, her strong moral character, and a passion for learning. Coming from an Army family, she holds a special place in her heart for veterans and military personnel. Her clinical interests include treatment resistant depression, anxiety, PTSD, stress management, and chronic pain disorders. In her free time, you can find Erin cuddling with her cat Indi, reading, hiking, listening to podcasts, and spending time with friends and family. She is a proud aunt to an incredibly adorable nephew. Erin learned about ketamine through her own personal challenges with depression and anxiety and feels deeply grateful to be able to offer this life changing treatment to those in need across the Upstate.

Jason Thieme

Jason is a mountain man at heart. Growing up in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado he found himself transplanted to the south via a tour in The United States Air Force. The Blue Ridge Mountains and Greenville area quickly won his heart and he has called the Upstate home for 30 years. Currently he resides in Travelers Rest with his wife and four children.

Professionally Jason has functioned over the past 22 years as a Critical Care/ Flight Paramedic. Having a profound desire to be in a position to help those who cannot otherwise help themselves he dove headfirst into prehospital medicine finding his place in Paramedicine. His career started serving with a high volume 911 provider and after 8 years segued into Flight Medicine. He served as a Flight Paramedic on a medical helicopter for 13 years including serving as the programs Base Medical Manager for the latter 2 years. This venture truly tested and redefined his skill set in prehospital medicine by placing him in circumstances he would not otherwise anticipate requiring him to treat “the worst of the worst.” The challenge however was met with humble pride as he truly got to make differences in strangers’ lives.

In September 2017 his profession took him to the Caribbean where he served for 6 weeks in Puerto Rico and St Croix as the Operations Director for FEMA with medical flight operations after Hurricane Maria decimated the area.  Year’s of experience with Prehospital Critical Care Medicine helped him navigate through a disaster of unprecedented proportion leading multiple flight teams with the challenges of evacuating the sick and injured to destinations of safety while also caring for the needs of the teams in a disaster ravaged place.

In 2019 Jason hung up his flight wings and continued his career as a Critical Care Paramedic with a hospital transport service. This challenged him even further with complicated ICU transfers and was humbly embraced.

Ultimately that desire to continue serving those who need help led him to his current role at the Greenville Ketamine Center. He is humbled to already be witness to the profound effects we can have on the lives of those otherwise suffering. He finds himself truly blessed to be in this newfound position.

In his free time Jason serves in several ministries with his church and leads on international medical mission trips biding his time between Nicaragua and Kenya annually.  When time permits you can find him navigating a hiking trail or casting a fishing line in a lake. Through it all he remains a mountain man at heart!
